The Skeleton Coast, with its rugged coastline and desolate beauty, offered a stark contrast to the rest of Namibia. Our journey began with a flight over the coast, the sight of shipwrecks scattered along the shore a haunting reminder of the treacherous waters.

On the ground, we explored the rusted remains of these ships, their skeletal frames standing as silent witnesses to the past. The landscape, with its rolling dunes and barren plains, was both eerie and mesmerizing. We encountered seals basking on the beaches and jackals prowling the dunes.

Our guide shared stories of the region’s history and the indigenous people who call it home. As the sun set, casting long shadows over the landscape, we returned to our lodge, reflecting on the stark beauty and rich history of the Skeleton Coast.
