The Makgadikgadi Salt Pans in Botswana offered a surreal and otherworldly landscape. Our journey began with a drive across the vast, white expanse, the horizon seeming to stretch endlessly. The stark beauty and silence of the pans were awe-inspiring.

We visited Kubu Island, a rocky outcrop covered with ancient baobab trees, offering a striking contrast to the surrounding salt flats. The island’s history and unique geology added to its allure.

Evenings on the pans were magical, with the sunset casting a golden glow over the landscape, followed by stargazing in the crystal-clear skies. The salt pans’ unique beauty and serene atmosphere made it a highlight of our Botswana adventure.
