Moremi Game Reserve, nestled within the Okavango Delta, offered an unparalleled safari experience. Our journey began with a flight over the delta, the mosaic of waterways and islands below a sight to behold. On arrival, we embarked on a mokoro (dugout canoe) ride, gliding silently through the channels, surrounded by lush vegetation and abundant birdlife.
Each game drive revealed the reserve’s rich diversity. We encountered elephants bathing in the lagoons, lions lounging under acacia trees, and elusive leopards prowling through the bush. The highlight was watching a pack of wild dogs on the hunt, their coordination and speed a testament to their prowess.
Our guide’s knowledge of the reserve’s ecosystem added depth to every sighting. Evenings in Moremi were serene, with spectacular sunsets over the delta and dinners under the stars. Moremi’s pristine beauty and abundant wildlife made it a highlight of our Botswana adventure.
